With Earth Day coming up (although who are we kidding! Every day is Earth Day!), I thought I’d share 6 documentaries that have helped me connect to Gaian consciousness in beautiful and unexpected ways this past year.

1. Aluna — on the Kogi tribe of Columbia and their oracular gifts as they commune with Aluna, the Great Mother consciousness. Learning about their shamanic tradition was fascinating, and the frequency of innocence they live in is so moving. (full doc available on YouTube)

2. Biggest Little Farm — an absolute delight from start to finish that made me laugh and cry. I’ll let you be surprised and just say, don’t miss this one :)

3. Gather — on how Native American tribes and their incredible leaders are healing generational trauma through ancestral food and reconnecting to their mother land. Deeply powerful and moving. And really important to watch as an American. Learn more and watch here.

4. Fantastic Fungi — a magical journey through the majestic intelligence of fungi and mycelium, their role in the ecosystem and in our evolution. A living testament to our deep interconnectedness. Learn more and watch here.

5. Kiss the Ground — as an earth lover, I didn’t realize I had no understanding of her “skin” and how she breathes! I learned so much, and was inspired by the dedicated visionaries carrying us towards new potentials. Highly recommended. (available on Netflix)

6. Path of the Anaconda (El Sendero de la Anaconda) — a mindblowingly beautiful and informative documentary on the biodiversity and importance of the Amazon, “the greatest forest on earth,” and the remote indigenous communities that still live there. (on Netflix)
